(Hi! I’m Rainbowfootsteps, a new blogger at Pinky’s Palace. You can call me Kiwi :3c I hope you enjoy what I bring to the blog!)
Sometimes after a stressful, tiring day, action-packed anime is the least appealing thing I can think of. I want to unwind, but all the shows I’m in the middle of get my blood pumping! So here’s five anime to watch when you just want to relax and unwind.
5. Akagami no Shirayukihime
Akagami no Shirayukihime, or Snow White with the Red Hair, is the sweet story of Shirayuki, who escapes from a cruel prince and begins her journey to become a court herbalist in the beautiful kingdom of Clarinesse. Akagami no Shirayukihime is quite calm most of the time, folowing Shirayuki’s life in the castle with her friends Kiki, Mitsuhide and Prince Zen. The animation is beautiful and the atmosphere is light and relaxing.
4. Hotarubi no mori e
If you’re more in the mood for a melancholy short movie, Hotarubi no Mori e is perfect for you. In only 40 minutes, Hotarubi no Mori e tells the beautiful story of Hotaru, a girl who gets lost in a mountain forest, and Gin, the not-quite-human who saves her. The movie follows Hotaru’s tranquil summers spent with Gin, growing older while he stays the same. The movie is beautiful – but be warned, your heart will be broken!
3. Natsume Yuujinchou
Natsume Yuujinchou, or Natsume’s book of friends, is a sweet series about Natsume and his mission to help every Youkai (spirit) he comes across and aid them in attaining freedom. The series is beautiful and each episode carries a poignant message, masterfully wrapped up in a mere 24 minutes each.
2. Spirited Away
A beautiful movie by Studio Ghibli, Spirited Away is a masterpiece of animation that will move you like no anime movie has before. The anime’s mystical setting in a spirit-filled bathhouse will have you captivated as you follow Chihiro’s journey to save her parents. While this anime is a bit more action-y than the others on this list, it’s still great for losing yourself in an incredible fictional world for a few hours.
1.Aria the animation
Aria the animation is a peaceful adventure onto Aqua (formerly known as Mars) where a beautiful city called Neo Venezia has been formed. Filled with canals and gondolas, each episode is a visual delight and the relaxing slice of life plot could calm down even the most high strung of viewers.
Hopefully this list helped you find some anime to watch next time you’re feeling on edge. What anime do you watch to relax? Leave it below in the comments!
